We celebrated the end of another season of Girl Scouts. Lanie is a Junior now and completed a pretty time intensive project with her troop called The Linus Project to work toward the Bronze Award. The troop collected fabric from the community and then learned how to make fleece tie blankets and use a sewing machine to make the pattern block blankets like the one Lanie is holding above. It was a lot of fun and lots of new learning for both Lanie and myself:)
Carter went out for 7th grade track. The season was pretty short, lasting only about 6 weeks. Carter threw shot put and discus and ran some individual short distances and in a relay. He says he didn't really enjoy it and probably won't go out again, but I'm glad he got the experience and tried it.
We expanded our Market to Market team to include 2 teams thus we called ourselves The Stars and Stripes. The weather was great and I got to run with some new people that I've never run or gotten to know very well before. It was a great Mother's Day gift to myself:)
