April 2017

What a great group to celebrate birthdays with:)  This year on a Saturday night early in April the girls (and guys) went to Haverville Social Club for supper and then drove home by stopping at small town bars a long the way.  The food was really yummy and it was fun to hang out with everyone.

Carter attended Teen Maze for school put on by Youth and Shelter Services.  Carter got to clean up garbage for community service for his choices in life:)

Lots of family were able to get together to celebrate Lanie and my birthdays.  Allison's family got to experience their first time at Fuji and as always te food was great!

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon we invited Camlyn to come play.  We went to a park in Ames and the two of them talked the whole way from the car to the playground, planning what they were going to do and catching up on what they'd been up to.  After they played on the playground for a while, we went for a hike down by the creek.

Happy Easter!  This year we celebrated Easter on Saturday for brunch at Mom's.  Food was wonderful and then we went outside to hide eggs for kids.  Even though Matthew tried, the kids found this one right away:)  There were eggs for the adults too with lottery tickets inside.  Matthew and I won more than we ever have before. . . $7!

Since we had celebrated Mother's Day already, on Sunday we couldn't help but get outside together again.  We picnicked and then Carter and Papa tried fishing at Hickory Grove, with no luck.  Mom went for a long walk with Gracie and Lanie and I went to the park to play.

Spent time together by attending the Science Center/ Botanical Gardens Earth Day Scavenger hunt.  The weather was beautiful and we got lots of downtown walking in.  Even though we had a vehicle debacle at the beginning, it ended up being a wonderful time.  That night we got to see Glen Phillips, with Jeremy, at the M-shop.  He was awesome, as always!  I love that venue because it is so intimate and you basically have conversations with the artists:)
