May Happenings 2020
What an unimaginable way to end the school year. I handed out my students' school supplies in plastic bags on May 1, not long after school closed for the rest of the year. Nearly all my kids and families came to pick up and it was difficult to not hug them good-bye. Thank goodness for Mom and Lanie's help packing up the room. There was SO much stuff!
Some of our Sunday afternoon hikes in the month of May included Lake Red Rock and Praerie Rail Trail in Roland. I had no idea how huge Lake Red Rock was! I love how the kids STILL love to climb, and how sweet Carter can be to his sister. The hikes help make things a little more normal and of course it's so good for the mood to be outside in nature.
Matthew is quite proud of his stimulus package spending:)
Mother's Day 2020. We got pizza from Great Plains, our first time eating out since the Pandemic started. They say that it is a low risk to get Corona from surfaces. Mom had never eaten there before and we had fun introducing her to the thick wheat crust with honey:)
What a great first time out in new camper and with great friends; the Sorems. We headed to eastern Iowa to Wapsipinicon River State Park for Memorial Day weekend. We hiked, golfed, played games and relaxed. All good for the soul♥️ We did have to take shelter on Saturday in the Golf Clubhouse because of a nearby tornado. On Sunday we headed to Palisades-Kepler State Park to hike. We learned a lot about camping in our new camper. Still trying to figure out the organization inside and have lots of things we still want to buy; like more yard games and a screen covered tent.
