September 2017 Happenings

The kids had some fun dress up days for Homecoming, including Disney Day.  Lanie was Boo from Monsters Inc., Carter was Bert from Mary Poppins, and Kaleigh was Violet from The Incredibles.

Rascal is slowly acclimating to our family (or we are to him).  He loves to sit in this chair when he is confined to the back yard.  Papa and Carter even made him a dog house with his name on it this month.

I got to share my passion for running with Lanie at the Boone Gimme S'more Mud Run on a Saturday morning with her girl scouts troop.  Not exactly my cup of tea to run through mud, but she enjoyed it:)  Yes, we did both complete the same course, she dove head first into the mud pits, I hovered.
Lanie bridged!  She is now a Cadette.  Last year her troop worked hard to sew and tie blankets for the Linus Project to give to kids in need and earned the Bronze Award.  Great group of girls and adults to be with!

Slowly we are building stamina on our homemade balance bike.  Every week we added a little more length and we have worked our way to gliding all the way to grandma and papa's house!
Renae and I got to spend time together at her September craft night.  Loved the project and our time catching up on each other's lives.
Lanie went to a Cheer Clinic at Roosevelt Highschool on a Saturday morning.  She learned some cheers, played games and had a snack.
I have been mentoring Kayla Royer for about 6 months and she was confirmed on Saturday evening at Memorial Lutheran Church.  It's been wonderful getting to know her and her family.  I wish her all the best and I hope she knows I'm always here if she needs anything.
