Matthew and I snuck away twice this month for date nights! The first one was a double date with our friends Mindy and Scott. We ate at a delicious thai restaurant called Blu in Des Moines'east village. Then we went to see a play at Grandview College.
We went to see BJ Thomas at the casino in Jefferson with mom and dad and Shannon and Steve. He sounded awesome and it felt wonderful to hear and sing along to his songs. Matthew never knew I was such a fan:)
It was time we got out of the house one dreary Saturday afternoon so we decided to try Climb Iowa. It is a great place, well worth the hour drive! I had no idea how tired climbing can be. I thought we'd last for 3-4 hours but after only 1, the kids were exhausted and ready to leave:( Wish we lived closer or that they'd put one in Ames.
Lanie had a date with all the Duits. They went to McDonalds, Target, and Orange Leaf. All her favorites! We are so lucky to have them in our lives!
Went on a Saturday afternoon park visit and ended up wandering into the woods and finding a nice path and stairs (Lanie's favorite).
