March 2015 Happenings

Lanie was very excited to be invited to Bella's birthday party sleepover!

After watching our hometown win the Girls' State Basketball Championship for the first time ever, we invited some friends and their families back to our house to celebrate.  It was so fun to be part of a community cheering on their basketball team and to remember some of the girls on the team from when they were first and second graders.
Carter had his first grades 5-12 band concert.  Each band played about 3 songs starting at 5th grade and then working their way all the way up.  At the end, the entire group played 1 song together.

I got to run my second Leprechaun Chase 10K with some good friends.  Heidi and I stayed the night at Mindy's afterwards.  We went consignment shopping and then out to the Piano Bar.  Then we had a yummy cafe breakfast the next morning.  It was beautiful, warm spring weather and it was so nice to be with friends.

Spring is in the air!  Both kids and Matthew in short sleeves and rollerskates/ blades.

Matthew got special training wheels put on Lanie's bike called Fat Wheels and she was ready to roll.  These wheels should last her well into her teens.  It was so fun watching her ride because for so long, she rode behind me on the tandum bike and I never saw her pedal:)  She gets stronger and goes further every bike ride.

I got to sit by Lanie at a school field trip to see "Jack and the Beanstalk."

Carter was invited to perform in a Middle School Honor Choir.  He practiced about 6 times with the small group from his middle school and missed school one Friday to meet up with middle school students from about 8 different schools.  They practiced all day with a guest director and then performed for their families at night.  We loved seeing him up there and I hope he enjoyed the experience.  He says he'll go back next year if he's invited.
We celebrated Christmas at Joy's in March because of rescheduling due to bad weather and busy lives.  It was so nice to catch up and relax with everyone outside of the school building.
