February 2015 Happenings

I was so pleased that Carter invited me to chaperone his class field trip to the Science Center.  I made him promise to be nice to me if I went:)  We were given time to walk around and look at the exhibits, watched a shark Imax movie, and then saw an electricity presentation.  It was so nice to just be "mom" for a field trip and spend time with Carter.  Carter promised his grandparents he'd try to make it on TV for the weather and he did!

I was so glad we got to enjoy the snow at least once this winter and even with friends!  We had a snow day one day AFTER the snow fell for clean up so in the afternoon some girlfriends and our kids ventured out to go sledding at the country club.  Great hills and very fun!

The Nevada PTA's annual Snowflake Dance was put on in February on a Saturday afternoon.  It was a lot of fun but felt so different without Carter there:(  Lanie loved dancing with friends to the DJ's music.

The sweetest cat ever!
We sold lots of girl scout cookies again this year, not sure how many but it's been fun working together to count, bag, label and deliver.

Enjoyed a wonderful Civic Center Family event called The Peking Acrobats on Valentine's Day. Always amazing bodily stunts that cause anxiety for us in the audience:)

Our Nevada Cubs Girls Basketball team has had an amazing season.  This game was Districts and we got to enjoy it with some friends (the girls were very interested, can't you tell).  As I'm writing this blog, we are getting ready to head down to the State Championship game where the girls will be competing in the finals!  It is so fun to cheer on some girls that I had in 1st and 2nd grade and see how athletic and strong they are!

So grateful for a Valentine's Day game night with friends at our house.  The newlywed game we kept track of score, it was a close one:)

Happy 12th birthday to my sweet nephew Kaelan!  I love that he'll always take the time to give/get hugs to family members and continues to grow more kind-hearted every day.

On Girls Scouts World Thinking Day, Lanie's troop presented about another country that has girl scouts.  Lanie presented about Japan.  We created a google slide show to share and Lanie spoke loud and proud as she shared with the girls in her troop:)
