April 2015 Happenings

Lanie had her 3rd and 4th grade Music Concert this month.  She was confident and moved to the music well with a friend in the front row.

Lanie decided on a "Frozen" theme for her 9th birthday party.  She invited many friends from school to come and some stayed the night too.  We played Build the Snowman by rolling large dice in 2 teams, Snowflake Melt (similar to musical chairs) to Frozen music, when the music stopped everyone picked up their snowflake to see if it was the "hotspot".  Grandma Barb baked a wonderful cake and of course we watched the movie before bed.  The girls sang a lot of kareoke, colored, painted toes and fingernails and played with Lanie's new toys.

After all the girls went home from Lanie's sleepover, our family tried our first GPS scavenger hunt at McFarland Park.  It was a great time together as a family, the weather was beautiful and we got to hike through the woods.

Matthew's pool team won 4th place at the ISPA 8-ball tournament in Des Moines this year!  I do believe this is his highest placing as a team every:)

Youngest 3 right before Demonstration Night at Central Elementary School.

We went away on a weekend vacation with the Lynch's this month to Wilderness Lodge in Wisconsin. We left right after school on a Friday and were home early afternoon on Sunday.  The weather was warm and it was so relaxing in the warm pools and hot tubs.  The kids played so well together and stayed together well on the slides.  I think we spent a lot more time at the arcade this time than last.  There were lots of new additions that we got to try out too, like lazer tag, go-carts, mini-golf, lazer maze, bumper boats and sky ropes course.  On Saturday night we went out to eat at Buffalo Phil's Grille where a train brings you your food and drinks.  Lots of fun!

Miss Hamilton reading to Miss Mahoney's class.

Cameron's 16th birthday party with family!!

Mindy and I went to an El Arte Uncorked at Okoboji Grill.  We painted "dot trees".  Lots of fun and good being together.

Mom baked an angel food cake and I got to celebrate my 35th birthday with family.
