Carter worked with Spencer on a history day project about Pete Rose. They created a website about him and learned about his conflicts and compromises.
Lanie had Claudia spend the night a couple times this month. They always love to play dress up and babies, watch a movie before bed and have pancakes the next day for breakfast.
It got very real how fast the kids are growing up this month when Carter got his driver's permit. It took a couple tries and he was very proud when it happened. He's doing a great job learning and growing each time he drives (usually with mom).
I decided our family needed a monthly family date because its so easy to not interact with quality at home on the weekends when we are home, each doing our own thing relaxing or the kids are gone so much. This month was bowling at Perfect Games and out to eat at Mongolian Buffet.
We had friends over to watch the Superbowl and had fun trying to stick with the theme with the food and games. Kaleigh joined in with the food and made rice krispie bites to match the 2 team's colors.
We went to the first ever Valentine's day dance at the Indian Creek Country Club. We had good food and danced the night away with friends.
Tanya got me out in winter with a friend hike in Ames. Great place to hike that I never knew about but would love to get back to. Didn't feel that cold at ALL (and I have my new hoodies)! Would love to get snow shoes or skis and take the kids sometime.
Surprised Lanie by taking her to Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood at CY Stephens, just the 2 of us. She was one of the oldest kids there but loved it. At one point she turned to me and said, "Mom. . . are we in Daniel Tiger's world or the real world?" I told her we can be in whatever world she wants to be in:)
Lanie studied different kinds of dance for PBL last semester and this is her tri-fold for the presentation.
Kaelan turned 15! We had supper and cake at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It had been a long time since all 12 of us were together. Grandma Jennifer got to come too.
Kaleigh was back at Skate North this month, but this time for Lily's birthday party.
We watched some basketball this month. I hope not, but this might be Carter's last time playing basketball for school. The coaches did an amazing team with 28 8th grade boys. They really spread the play time out and tried to help each boy learn and grow. Lots of A, B, AND C games.
