April 2016 Happenings

April came in like a lamb with some wonderful sunny, warm days and out like a lion as we just got home from one of Carter's baseball games with temperatures in the low 40's.  Hopefully, we can finally put away the winter coats and stocking caps and keep moving onto summer temperatures!  Lanie and I spent a Saturday morning at Noah's Garden with other families in our Multi-Age program cleaning up the paths between the gardens by pulling weeds and spreading mulch.  This is one of our 3rd and 4th grade teachers with her baby on her back and working with Lanie to pull weeds.

Our Multi-Age program had their annual demonstration night.  I got to come watch during Lanie's Dress Rehearsal in her classroom.  She had a part in a poem, a play of Charlotte's Web, and got to share her Ladybug research project on the ipad using the app Explain Everything.  Matthew and Carter got to watch that night.

Our baby girl turned 10!  So unbelieveable!  On her actual birthday we went to Hickory Park restaurant (she picked) with family to celebrate.  Then when she got back home, the balance beam Papa had built for her was waiting in the living room to surprise her:)  That Saturday, we had her birthday party at Cardinal Gymnastics on ISU Campus.  She LOVED it!  So many of her wonderful friends were able to come and Lanie loved using all the different equipment.  The only bad part was that 5 minutes into the birthday party, Carter landed wrong when he jumped down from the trampoline and hurt his right ankle badly.  On Monday when we took him in, we found out it was broken:(
