Lanie's 7th birthday was on a Saturday this year. We decided to have her birthday party on a Sunday, so on her birthday we let her open her gift from us. We decided that it was time she had some sort of device to play games, watch videos, take pictures, and read books on like her brother. Here she is checking it out:)
For about 6 months now, Lanie has loved watching Barney videos on you tube. She has learned the songs and sings along and will dance in the living room to the CD too. So when it came time to pick out what kind of cake, it was easy. It had to be Barney! Didn't Grandma Barb do a great job!!
We are so thankful that many friends and family members were able to come help us celebrate Lanie's birthday! The party started at noon, so right away it was time to eat Lil' Caesar's pizza and have cake and ice cream. Here's all the kids around the table getting ready to sing "Happy Birthday."
It wouldn't be a birthday party without the annual picture DVD. This one was just as great as all the others, and left this mommy teary-eyed. The heart felt song on the DVD was Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years" and the fun song just for Lanie was "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen.
Everyone played pin the heart on Barney using puffy heart stickers.
Carter being the amazing brother he is...reading Lanie one of her birthday cards.
