Carter became interested in Chess this month and even played in some online tournaments, like his Daddy. I can't imagine how happy Matthew was to sit down and play Chess with him and teach him some things. It was also time to add a little to the newly painted wall. Amazing how much warmer it can feel with just a few decorations.
Not sure how many annual New Year family hikes this is, maybe 5? It was a beautiful day and we weren't cold at all once we got hiking. The pond was frozen over and Lanie thought that was neat to walk across it.
January birthday party at Mom's house. We had dinner and she made each of the 3 birthday kids' their chosen dessert. We sang happy birthday and they blew out candles. It was good to be together.
Lanie started back at school in the building part time 2nd semester. She began working with Lucy Buck too, and it is going really well. Lucy makes sure they work on lots of goals and have fun together. Kaelan comes over some days too, to work on his school work and hang out. They've gone sledding and cooked muffins, cupcakes and breakfasts for Lanie.

I did it! Matthew got me this puzzle for Christmas. Totally not my normal style and all the blue was a huge struggle. But it felt good when I kept at it and finished it. Hardest part was definitely the sky. I finished it at about 10pm on a night when school was called off the next day because of a blizzard.
