Our school had our type of field day called Go the Distance Day, sponsored by our Nevada Park and Rec department at the beginning of May. I was fortunate enough to get to have Lanie's class partner up with mine, so I got to take pictures! The perks to being a teacher at the same school your children go to are endless:)

Lanie is ...running!! |
Happy Mother's Day! I woke up Sunday morning after being gone ALL day for the Market to Market run, to find this apron (btw I love that is says Mrs. Hamilton, I'll never get tired of being reminded that I'm married to Mr. Matt Hamilton), Carter's lego creation telling me that this day is for me, my daughter's Top 10 Reasons Why My Mom is the Best poster (written in her own handwriting!!), and a note telling me that Matthew got me cowboy boots like I wanted. It was a wonderful, relaxing day and we ended it by having a BBQ at my mom and dad's house.
Carter decided he wanted to be involved in the Hershey's track meet this year. So on a beautiful Friday afternoon after school, we got to sit in the high school stands and cheer on kids at a track meet. I didn't realize until later what an important experience it is for kids. They get to experience so many other sports at such an early age, but not until middle school do they know what it's like at a track meet. Carter didn't place, but he didn't care and neither did we:) Just happy for the experience.

At our last Civic Center family series event of the year called "World of Rhythm." |
Ayden returned the Flat Twin of Lanie with great pictures of many experiences she got to go on with him. Lanie was excited to see them.
I read a great book called the Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and had to share and keep all her great thoughts and ideas in a safe place to go back and reread again and again. She has truly inspired me to start my own happiness project. I strongly encourage anyone in their thirties to read this book:)
