August 2018 Happenings
We chose golfing on a Friday afternoon from our Family Bucket List. We went to Colo Twin Anchors golf course and had the course to ourselves! Carter and Kaleigh did a great job sticking with the game. The highlight of my game was getting the ball OVER the pond on hole 8.
We heard some amazing musicians at Hinterland 2018 including Tash, Chvrches, and Band of Horses. The weather was beautiful and the people really great. Hoping for a great line-up next year and maybe even going to both days:)
Last minute I-Cubs game before school started thanks to Lanie's Public Library rewards. Our seats were awesome, until we got caught, but then it was time to go home anyway:)
As Carter gets closer and closer to getting a school permit we decided it was time to get Matthew a truck. He did all the research online and we ended up at George White in Ames. He got another Nissan Frontier, similar to the one he had before kids. He is loving it and I am glad we finally are able to haul our own stuff without borrowing Dad's truck.
Carter's a high school football player! We couldn't be more pleased with his decision to go out for high school football.
After a freak boating accident, Lanie ended up in the hospital overnight after emergency surgery and stitches. For a treat, she had hamburger and french fries for breakfast and even got to eat the brownie first! We had the best possible care from the surgeon, pediatrician, doctors, and nurses at Mary Greeley Hospital.
It was only Matthew, Lanie and I to the Iowa State Fair this year. We had fun looking at all the pictures, huge fruits and vegetables, eating yummy food and watching a little of Here Come the Mummies.
First day of school pictures. Kaelan is a sophomore, Carter a freshman, Kaleigh and Colyn are in 8th grade and Lanie is in 7th.
I had my 20-year high school reunion the weekend of Lincoln Highway Days. It was fun to see everyone and hear about all the great things people are doing. Hopefully even more will show up at the 25th.
