On a spur of a moment, I decided one of my New Year's Goals would be that Lanie gets a big-girl bedroom. She still had the paint, boarder, and curtains from when the room was Carter's nursery and when Grandma Barb got her a new bedspread for Christmas, it was all the motivation I needed to get going. Of course, Matthew would've liked me to wait until he had a day off, but he knows me better than that:)

Carter helped ALOT to get the room ready to paint, "Hey mom, vinegar really does work to get the boarder off!" |

Butterfly stencils |
I was inspired by walls of butterflies on Pinterest, and decided to try stenciling on my own. I used the colors in her bedspread and bought all my supplies from Hobby Lobby. It was really fun!! The key to stenciling is to dab, not brush:)

Lanie is very happy with her room and we'll keep adding to it as time goes on. Only problem is, she has yet to sleep all night in it....
