Halloween 2012

The kids have gotten more use out of their costumes this year than ever before!  Carter has flip-flopped between a hairy safari guide and a scuba diver and Lanie has stayed a Ladybug princess.  The Iowa weather was nice and mild for Trick-or-Treat night and the kids were happy:)

First was Roby's Halloween party on Friday.  He invited Mrs. Olson's 1st and 2nd grade class.  The kids ate lots of great food and loved just being together and playing in the toy room.

Then was Paige and Marissa's Halloween party on Saturday.  The kids painted mini pumpkins, played guess the body party out of zip-loc baggies, and watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.  Mommy even got some social time over a glass of wine and met 2 new nice ladies:)

Then Monday, Matthew took the kids to a Halloween Party for Cub Scouts.  Lanie even won the sibling costume contest and got a Camp Akela shirt.  Carter laughs and says, "And she's the only one who never went to Camp Akela and she gets the shirt:)"

Then Tuesday night it was Trick or Treating here in town.  We continued the tradition of meeting at Grandma's house for a group picture with the cousins.  We drove around town to go to specific friends' and then came back to our neighborhood.  Lanie would only do 2 more houses after we got back here, but Carter kept going.

As always, Daddy did a great job on the family pumpkin.  Lanie picked the star nose and Carter picked the vampire fangs and triangle eyes.

Matthew and I went as a tooth and Tooth Fairy.  My goal this year was to be warm, to heck with skimpy, sexy clothes any more.  Matthew's costume was all homemade with directions off of Pinterest:)  We giggled a lot the night before the party when Matthew learned to hand stitch from me.  Thank you Grandma Harris!
